My Little Helper
Addison has not wanted to wear a diaper lately and I gave in and let her run around the house naked. She only went pee on the floor twice. She does have a rash all over her body, so maybe the diaper rubs up against it and makes her itch. Yes, you are not imagining it, if you look really close Addison is naked and helping me in the kitchen. Not very sanitary, I know. We are peeling hard boiled eggs to make deviled eggs. She did a good job cracking the egg on the counter but after that she destroyed it. When throwing the shells in the garbage she tried to eat some of the shells. Thank goodness I shoved her hand away from her mouth and she didn't succeed. She really liked eating the deviled eggs, not something I would have expected. But as I am learning it is hard to know what to expect from a toddler. It was fun playing kitchen with her, messy, but fun!!!

Our little plumber
She will hate this picture when she gets older but how many times in your life are you told you have a cute little butt. I'm surprised the diaper stayed on at all. Have you held one of those diapers when it gets really wet, they feel like they weigh a couple of pounds.
I float!!
Addison is getting brave in the bath tub. Tonight she was floating all by herself. The water was not very deep but she did a great job of lying back and getting back up all on her own. She is quite the little fish as she swims in the tub too.
1985 Cabbage Patch Doll
Tonight Chris, Addison and I were going through boxes of stuff from my childhood. When mom and dad moved from Mt. Zion they put alot of my stuff in my grandparents garage. The boxes finally found me...grandma and grandpa moved too and wanted it out of their garage. Anyway, we found my beloved Cabbage Patch dolls. We found seven of them in the box, one of them is Brandon's however. I think I had too many because I only remember the names of my first two, Stella and Katherine. The other four shall remain nameless, unless Addison decides to name them. It was fun looking at my old things. It reminds me of how great my childhood was and of all the fond memories I have of growing up in Mt. Zion with mom, dad, and Brandon. Thanks mom and dad for taking such good care of me and giving me a wonderful childhood full of wonderful memories.

Pa's Pretty!
The other day we were sitting on mom and dad's back porch. We were talking about something being pretty and we asked her "who's pretty", expecting her to say "Addison's pretty". She looked at me, Chris, mom and dad. After studying us all for a while she said, "Pa's pretty". We all just started to giggle. It was really funny. Not that dad isn't pretty, but as he said, "boys are handsome".
Getting Tall
You might not be able to tell in this picture, but the dress Addison is wearing is getting shorter everytime she wears it. I am not sure what size the dress is, but from the back you can see her diaper. Not only are her dresses getting shorter, she can reach all the door knobs and turn them, climb up on the couch unassisted and take cups off of tables, what happened to that little baby?

Mustard Anyone?
Addison likes to get things out of the refrigerator. Sometimes when I want to get somethings done in the kitchen I just let her take out whatever she wants. In this picture she had all of her items and then had to have a plate. She lines them up, pretends to be pouring them out onto her plate and has a great time. She even does a pretty good job of putting them away. I'll take that the soy sause and baby food jar were in the pepsi fridge box, at least she put them back in the fridge.
Smile
I think Addison looks so cute in this picture. The picture summarizes the day(Monday) for me. We had a great day. We didn't have to be anywhere or do anything. Addison woke up early scratching her legs and bottom. She has a rash, either from the sun, sunscreen or both, from vacation. I gave her some benedryl and she (and I) had an earlier than usual nap. It was a pretty long nap too. We played inside most of the day since it was so hot and humid. Later in the day we played in Elmo sprinkler, ate macaroni and cheese for dinner and listened to the thunderstorm. She is so much fun.

Swimming with Elmo
I have been wanting to get Addison a water toy since school has been out. I finally found something at our local Walmart store. It is called Elmo's Splashtime Sprinkler Mat and as you can see from the pictures she loves it. She had so much fun running up to the water and stopping and trying to drink it. She wouldn't run through it right away and had quite the giggle watching mommy and daddy demonstrate. I an so happy when I find something she enjoys, whether it be a toy, food or some fun activity. Score one for mommy. She wasn't too enthused about turning the water off, but it was time to go inside since her teeth were chattering. I am sure we will have an outrageous water bill, but the joy in watching her smile and hearing her laugh is priceless.
To the Doctor Again
We went to the doctor again today. We figured up with the doctor that Addison has had 6 ear infections since January, darn day care. Or maybe not, we are scheduled for a visit to the ear, nose, throat doctor sometime this summer. We should know more after we see him. She has only shown signs of sickness in the middle of the night. She has woken up screaming the past two nights and has had a hard time going back to sleep. She is such a good sick kid, we are very thankful. Hopefully, the medicine with work again and we will get some answers from our visit with the ent doctor.

Taylor

This is a hard blog to start. All of my blogs have been happy ones about our family and mostly Addison. This one is about our dog, well not our dog, but mom and dads dog, Taylor. Brandon and I got Taylor for mom and dad sometime in the summer of 1997. We thought they would need someone to take care of since both of us were going to be out on our own. We thought a brand new shiny puppy would be a good choice. When we brought her home I'm not so sure they were too happy. I don't think dad talked to us for about a week:) Yet, over the years Taylor worked her way into all of our hearts. She loved everyone, even if they didn't like her. She was always happy to see you when you walked in mom and dads door. She would run back and forth down the deck and finally stop so you could pet her. As a puppy she would jump all over you and play, play, play. Even though she did chew up my favorite NCAA basketball hat as a puppy, I still loved/love her.
I could tell you many, many Taylor stories, but I can't think of them all right now. I know our family is going to miss Taylor very much. Anytime we ask Addison who we are going to see when we go to Decatur she always says, "Taylor", then ma, then pa. Taylor didn't know it, but she was often a bribe to get Addison in the car and make the drive over to Decatur. I would say who are we going to see and she would scream excitedly, "Taylor". She loves Taylor. These are only a few of the pictures we have of her and Taylor. There are many more. She always wants to pat her and her latest thing was to stand in front of her and say, "hi, Taylor, hi Taylor". She is always looking forward to seeing Taylor. I think it will be hard the first time we go to mom and dads house and she is not there. Tonight we were sitting on the bed doing something and she said "Taylor, miss you". I don't want to not talk about Taylor around her because I want her to remember her. We will just handle the questions as they come I guess.
Just a few more stories.....I know mom and dad have lost many hours of sleep when Taylor was pacing the floor during a thunderstorm, but they were great care givers to her because they did lose those hours of sleep to be with her. I know mom and dad loved her, because they would take a bottle of water with them for her when they went on walks.
Taylor we love you and will miss you very much. I hope you didn't suffer and are in Heaven with Rylie watching down on us.

Me and Pa!
We thought this was a cute picture. I wonder what Grandpa was saying to Addison. She loves hanging out on the deck watching for boats.
Addi and the boys!
We went to visit Aunt Pam and Uncle Mike over the weekend. We got to see Nick and Lynde's twins, Noah and Landon too. We all went to the park to play. This picture is after we got back and the boys were leaving to go home. She was blowing them kisses goodbye and saying "bye boys". She had fun swinging and watching the boys play. Thanks Aunt Pam for all of the goodies Addison ate and sorry we didn't pick up the toys we got out before we left.
Going potty!
Addison loves mom and dad's dog, Taylor. She loves her so much she likes to potty like her. She was telling us, "I potty" and had to go to the grass just like Taylor does it. I don't know if she was really pottyting, but she sat down in the grass, waited a minute and then got up. She is fun!!!

Baby and Me
Addison was playing mommy last night. She got out paper plates and went to the silverware drawer to get a spoon. She needed help with the spoon, but did a good job feeding her baby. She made the baby pizza and it was hot, hot hot. She has quite the imagination lately. She likes to play going to the office (post office) to get the mail. She pushes her stroller into the kitchen and comes back with the mail.

The Fan
Since it has been a little on the warm side lateley, we put in our window air conditioners. Along with the window air conditioner comes the ossilating fan. It took me a minute to figure out why her hair was so fluffy, but then remembered how she likes to stand in front of the fan. Two times today she kind of squatted and stood in front of the fan. The funny part is, she didn't have a dipaer on either time. It just made me smile. I love her.
My Boat
Addison has a new boat, yes, it is a box, but she loves it. She has taken her babies for a ride in her boat, read a book in her boat and tried to swim in her boat. As I am typing she is starting her boat with her keys.
