She takes a book out, looks at it and tosses it over her shoulder. She has just begun to not army crawl with her one arm and one foot. She is getting bigger each day.

Ears Pierced

We were at the mall one Friday afternoon and I asked Addison if she wanted to get her ears pierced. I have asked her before, but she never wanted to. This time she said yes. So off we went to Claires Boutique. She picked out little blue circles. She was so brave, she did cry for quite a while, but she really didn't know what she was getting herself into. I think she was more scared of what happened, rather than the actual piercing. She did great letting us clean them and she was the one who liked to turn them so they wouldn't stick. She looks so much older with them in. My little girl just keeps growing up!

Bailey's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Bailey's birthday on Sunday, August 1st. We had a great day. She is such a good girl. She didn't know what to do with the cake after we sang to her, but she really enjoyed her piece on her pink plate. I hope all the family and friends had a good of time as we did. Addison was a good little helper. She picked out the plates, bowls, cups, napkins, and balloons. She is such a good big sister.

Knight's Action Park

Addison, Bailey and I finally made it to the water park today. Addison and I went last night after she was done at school to check things out. It was nice to spend time with Addison. She is getting so grown up.

Today she was in her own little world. Bailey and I just watched her. She loves the water. She only likes the blue tunnel waterslide in the kid area. She probably rode the blue slide at least 15 times. Yesterday we were going to ride some of the bigger slides together, but that is not allowed. You cannot ride with other people, silly.

After we played in the water, rode the lazy river and did the slides we had our picnic lunch, peanutbutter and jelly and pretzels. Sometimes I wonder if Addison eats enough, but I have finally realized, she eats when she is hungry, like she should, I guess. She ate her sandwich and pretzels without me have to tell her to just have two more bits. She has been eating better the last several weeks. Bailey ate her apple blueberry baby food and some of my sandwich, she is a really good eater lateley too. She almost refuses baby food anymore, she definitely wants to eat what we are all eating. It is fun to watch her eat.

Bailey fell asleep on the way home in the car and I really thought the waterpark would wear Addison out and she would take a nap too, but no such luck. As I write this, she has not had too many meltdowns. She is watching Strawberry Shortcake and eating yogurt. It might be an early night, it might not.

Jumping off a picnic table....

At about 11:30, right when my fifth hour was starting, the office called and said the daycare was on the phone. I am not a worrier, but something is usually wrong when they call. This time Addison had gotten hurt. She jumped off of the picnic table and landed teeth first chipping her two front teeth and sending one of her eye teeth up into her gums. Poor thing.

After getting off the phone with the daycare I called our dentist and they wanted to see her. So, we have been to the dentist twice this week. On Monday, Chris, Addison and I went for our 6 month cleaning. Today however, we went because beautiful little teeth are no longer straight and even across the bottom. They are jagged. We can have them fixed in about 4 months. The x-ray showed no major damage. She was so brave. When I first saw her she had blood still around her mouth and a look of sadness was on her face. She let the dentist feel her teeth and was very good while he took the x-ray.

Spring Break 2010

We were on spring break this week. The girls went to school most of the week and I got a lot of things done around the house. One milestone for the week was that Bailey figured out how to crawl on her belly. She finally got her left arm out of the way enough so she could scoot along. No more leaving her alone on a bed or in a room without picking up little toys. You wouldn't know she does so well at daycare with Sherry and Lisa. They say she has good days all of the time. She is quite a mommy's girl when we get home from school every night. We went to get our pictures taken on Wednesday at Shooting Stars in Decatur. It was hard deciding which pictures to get, they were all so good. I think we picked some really good ones. We need to get them in some frames soon. The girls did so good, they are quite the models. Chris and I joke that we should get a discount because the girls are so cooperative when getting their picture taken. We were done in less than an hour with 3 outfit changes. On Friday Addison and I spent the day together. We headed to Champaign to get our haircut. We stopped in Decatur to visit mom at Star for a little bit and then headed to see Aunt Ryan. She was such a good girl at the shop. She sat for Ryan while she cut her hair and even let her dry and curl it. She entertained herself quite well for a couple hours while I got my hair done. We headed back to Decatur and Addison ended up spending the night with mom and dad. She had a great time staying with grandma and papa. Papa is her new name for dad. I'm not sure where she came up with it but she decided one day she was going to call him that. She called dad on the phone to tell him and he said he didn't want to be called papa. She was crushed and didn't want to talk to him anymore on the phone. Dad finally got her to talk to him, I'm not sure what he said, but he is now papa. The weather during break was wonderful. We got to play outside and really enjoy our week. Summer is right around the corner and I am looking forward to having more time with my girls.

April 5, 2010

We had a great Easter weekend at home and at mom and dad's. Peter Cottontail visited and brought Addison a princess bike. He left a trail of eggs outside leading to her playhouse. Inside her playhouse was her bike. She was so excited she gave it a hug. It was really fun to see her so excited. Everytime she rides it she gets better. She was really focused on watching her feet pedal and not watching where she was going, but she is getting better. She has also learned how to stop, always a good thing to know.

On Saturday, we went to Ellie's birthday party. The kids had a great time on the tumble bus, hunting eggs outside and playing with all of Ellie's toys. Addison didn't want to leave her friend Ellie Ford. We also had a good time visiting with Sarah and Adam.

April 1, 2010

We had a great time playing outside tonight. It was a little windy, but we picked up a lot of sticks and Addison made a flower garden in the yard using dirt from one of the flower pots. She was really dirty when we headed inside, but she had a great time. She has such a good imagination, it is fun to watch her play.

Thanks to Jana, Addison's teacher at school, for getting the glow-in-the-dark silly putty out of her hair today. A little piece just have been in her bed the other night. When she woke up yesterday she had a pink glob the size of a dime in her hair. I am glad we didn't have to cut it out even though it was toward the bottom of her hair.

March 28, 2010

Mom, Addison, Bailey and I spent the day together yesterday. We started the day at the twin sale and got to see Uncle Faye, Lisa and Erin. I think they were finding some things but we didn't. Then we headed to the mall to return a few things and let Addison play. She made her usual rounds; merry-go-round, train and the climbing plastic stuff.

We went to Darcy's for lunch and didn't have to wait, amazing since it was noon. We had a great day and hope we can do it all again soon.

Bailey's first tooth popped through the other day. Today I noticed her second bottom tooth is coming in too. I don't remember when Addison's first tooth came in. I should look it up on her webpage, surely Chris or I wrote it down somewhere.

This week has gone by really fast. We got to walk to the park last night, but tonight it was cold and raining. We are all ready for more nights outside when we get home from school. We are looking forward to getting the playhouse ready too.

Spending the weekend at mom and dad's. Just me, Chris and Bailey. Addison is on a roadtrip with mom and dad to Champaign to see uncle Brandon and aunt Ryan. Not sure what the three of us are going to do.

We all got a good night's sleep last night. It was a rough week. Addison "had the coughs", as she would say. Her and Chris spent three nights sleeping in the recliner downstairs. Sleeping may not be the right word. They just didn't get much sleep all week.

I think Addison has some kind of allergy that shows up every season except winter. We are back to giving Addison a claritin everyday like we started in the fall. I hope that fixes the coughing.
